Privacy Policy
Effective 31 August 2026
This policy explains how the SCAE (Speed Compliance Analytics Engine) Android app and its supporting service at scae.gyaanvaapi.in handle data. SCAE is an operational railway monitoring and speed-analysis tool.
Information handled by SCAE
The app retrieves operational records already held by the SCAE service, including:
- train and locomotive identifiers, routes, stations, journey times and speed records;
- train GPS coordinates associated with recorded journeys;
- caution orders, signal and track states, and brake-test analysis; and
- crew-working records, which may include crew names, crew IDs, designations, duty types and working sections.
This is operational data obtained from connected railway systems. The app does not collect these records from the user's phone. When a user requests an analysis, the app sends the selected journey identifier and the chosen matching threshold and tolerance to the SCAE service. As with any internet service, the server and network infrastructure process technical request information such as an IP address and request time to deliver the response and maintain service security.
Account and sign-in information
Signing in to SCAE requires a mobile number, verified with a one-time password sent by SMS. The signed-in session is identified by that mobile number and, where applicable, the crew or officer identity it is linked to in connected railway identity records. Railway officers requesting access additionally provide their name, email address, PF number, designation and division so the request can be verified and approved. A signed-in session is stored on the device as a security token in the platform's encrypted credential storage (Android Keystore-backed), not as a copy of the mobile number itself.
Information stored on the device
SCAE stores the user's analysis threshold, overspeed tolerance and cached journey verdicts in the app's private local storage, and the signed-in session token in encrypted secure storage. These are used only to preserve the user's choices, status and sign-in state between sessions. Search text is used on the device to filter displayed records and is not submitted as a search-history profile.
Information SCAE does not collect from the device
Beyond the sign-in details above, SCAE does not request access to or collect the user's:
- device location or location history;
- camera, microphone, contacts, photos or personal files;
- advertising ID, payment information, financial information or health information.
SCAE does not contain advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide SCAE's operational features: verifying sign-in and access rights; displaying train, caution, crew and track information; producing speed-compliance analysis; generating reports; remembering user-selected analysis settings; and operating, securing and troubleshooting the service.
Sharing and sale
SCAE does not sell personal data and does not share app data with advertisers or data brokers. Data is transmitted between the app and the SCAE service to provide the requested features. Infrastructure providers may process limited technical request data solely to host and deliver the service. Operational records remain available only through the systems and authorized users for which SCAE is operated.
Security
The app connects to the SCAE service using HTTPS. Locally saved preferences are kept in the app's private storage. Access to the service and its operational data should be limited to authorized users. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention and deletion
Local settings and cached verdicts remain on the device until they are replaced, the app's data is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Signing out removes the session token from the device. Backend operational records are retained for operational analysis until they are refreshed, replaced or removed by an authorized administrator, subject to applicable operational or legal needs.
To request deletion of your account or personal information — your mobile number, officer registration details, or any personal information appearing in an operational record — email support@gyaanvaapi.in from the address or number associated with your account. Requests are verified before action and are completed within a reasonable time. Deletion may be limited where retention is required for a legitimate operational or legal purpose (for example, a record subject to an active safety enquiry).
Children
SCAE is a professional operational tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if SCAE's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
Contact
For privacy questions, or to request access, correction or deletion of your data, email support@gyaanvaapi.in.
In short: the app reads operational railway data from SCAE, signs you in with your mobile number, stores only your session, analysis settings and verdicts on the phone, and does not use phone sensors, ads or analytics trackers. Email support@gyaanvaapi.in to have your account or data deleted.
